Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Stepson Arrested for Fatal Shooting of 13-Year-Old Son

The 13-year-old boy was fatally shot in July 2025, and now his father, Gregory Zecca, has been arrested for allegedly committing the crime.

On July 19, 2025, Duane ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Chapman’s step-grandson, Anthony, lost his life in a tragic incident. Zecca, Anthony’s father, has been charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child with a firearm and using a firearm while under the influence.

The incident occurred at a Florida apartment, where Zecca had been drinking heavily and using marijuana while watching a UFC event with his son. He allegedly handled his firearm near Anthony, including practicing drawing it and dry-firing it without a magazine.

However, the magazine was later reinserted, and Zecca allegedly fired a single shot, fatally striking his son. “This was a heartbreaking and preventable tragedy,” Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said, commending the detectives’ thorough investigation .

Zecca’s blood-alcohol concentration was estimated to be approximately 0.116, above Florida’s legal limit of 0.08. Responders found him with the smell of alcohol on his breath and marijuana in plain view.

Zecca was placed on a psychiatric hold after the shooting, with concerns he might harm himself due to grief. The family has expressed their devastation, asking for prayers as they cope with the loss.
