Teenage Brother Heroically Uses Slingshot to Thwart Sister’s Alleged Kidnapping

In a harrowing incident, a 14-year-old boy bravely intervened to save his eight-year-old sister from an alleged kidnapper by firing a slingshot at the assailant. This act of courage aligns with advice from law enforcement officials regarding self-defense in such dire situations.
Lieutenant Grimshaw, when offering guidance on how to react to an attempted abduction, emphasized the importance of aggressive resistance. He advised victims to “fight, fight, do everything you can—bite the hand that’s holding you, that has one hand over your mouth. If that’s the case, stomp on their feet, kick them in the shin, do whatever you can to fight. And then if your mouth is free, scream as loud as you possibly can.”
According to 9and10news, law enforcement successfully apprehended the suspect, who was subsequently charged based on his confessions made after his arrest. The state police had issued a description of the individual, which led to his location at a nearby gas station. Upon apprehension, he was found to have sustained injuries to his head and chest, consistent with being struck by a slingshot.
State police troopers reported that the suspect admitted to detectives his intention to “severely beat” the intended victim of his attempted kidnapping. At the time, authorities indicated he would be prosecuted as an adult and faced multiple serious charges, including attempted kidnapping/child enticement, attempted assault with intent to inflict great bodily harm less than murder, and assault and battery.
