Philadelphia Roofer Scales Burning Building to Save His Mother

Jermaine, a 35-year-old roofer from Philadelphia, became a local hero after scaling a burning 15-story apartment building to check on his bedridden mother. When first responders refused to let him inside the high-rise, he didn’t hesitate, taking matters into his own hands.
Despite suffering from a cracked hip from an earlier fall, Jermaine began climbing the building’s exterior. He used balconies and whatever he could to make his way up, floor by floor, until he reached his mother’s apartment. He found her safe and was able to speak with her and confirm she was okay, even though the air was thick with smoke.
Thankfully, firefighters were able to contain the blaze, and everyone made it out alive. Though several residents were treated for smoke inhalation, there were no reported fatalities.
Jermaine’s quick-thinking and heroic act has captured the hearts of many, proving that a mother’s love is worth risking everything for.
