Global Leaders Respond to Trump’s Announcement of Airstrikes on Iranian Nuclear Sites

Global leaders reacted swiftly to President Donald Trump’s declaration Saturday that the U.S. had executed a “highly effective assault” on three Iranian nuclear facilities, including Fordo. Trump tweeted, “THIS IS A LANDMARK MOMENT FOR THE UNITED STATES, ISRAEL, AND THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY. IRAN MUST NOW AGREE TO CEASE HOSTILITIES”.

The international community’s response was immediate. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on X that his country “retains all possibilities” for retaliation. “The actions taken this morning are scandalous and will have lasting repercussions,” Araghchi said.

“Every UN member must be concerned about this perilous, lawless, and heinous conduct. In line with the UN Charter and its clauses permitting legitimate self-defense, Iran reserves all avenues to safeguard its sovereignty, interests, and citizens” .
