Gavin & Stacey favourite Joanna Page has revealed she was groped by a “handsy” TV host

Gavin & Stacey favourite Joanna Page has revealed she was groped by a “handsy” TV host during an early-career entertainment show, but laughed it off because she “didn’t want to make a fuss.”
In her memoir Lush!, out 25 September, the Welsh actress, 48, writes that a female producer warned her the presenter “likes to get a bit touchy-feely with the girls,” then watched as he began groping her on set. Page says she joked, “I feel like I’m in Bristol Zoo,” and batted his hand away, but never considered complaining.
She argues the industry’s power imbalance makes harassment almost inevitable: millions of hopeful young women, a handful of gate-keeping older men, and jobs so scarce that speaking up feels like career suicide.
Page recalls a theatre director barging into her dressing room while she was “in my knickers,” hugging and kissing her until she wrapped herself in a curtain and froze him out with polite chatter.
She insists things have improved—intimacy coaches, helplines, industry safeguards—but believes predators will always exist where opportunity meets desperation.
