Just 15 months after finalizing his divorce from Theresa Nist, Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner has announced his engagement to girlfriend Lana Sutton. The 74-year-old reality TV personality shared the happy news on Instagram on October 3, posting beachside photos showing Sutton displaying her new engagement ring—a round-cut diamond set on a diamond-encrusted band.
The couple’s relationship has been characterized by frequent travel since they began dating in March, with Turner previously telling PEOPLE they’ve visited multiple destinations including Niagara Falls, St. Louis, and Charlotte, where Sutton introduced him to her parents. “Her level of adventure and mine are very similar,” Turner noted of their compatible lifestyles.
This new chapter comes after Turner’s highly publicized marriage to Nist, which began with a televised wedding in January 2024 following his Golden Bachelor season, only to end in divorce ten months later. Nist later suggested on a podcast that their brief courtship period contributed to the split, noting “you really can’t know somebody in four weeks.”
The engagement announcement also follows Turner’s recent disclosure of a bone cancer diagnosis, though he maintains he “feels great” and remains optimistic about his future with his new fiancée.
