Erika Kirk breaks silence with first remarks after losing her husband, Charlie Kirk

She declared that her late husband’s mission would not end with his death, but instead would carry forward and become even greater.
Erika Kirk, widow of slain political activist Charlie Kirk, delivered her first public remarks since his passing, reflecting on his legacy and urging Americans to continue supporting the cause he dedicated his life to.
Taking her place at a podium inscribed with the words, “May Charlie be received into the merciful arms of Jesus, our loving Savior,” Erika spoke of her grief and her husband’s sacrifice.
“My husband gave his life for me, for our country, for our children. … There will never be words strong enough to capture the depth of loss I feel in my heart,” she said.
She began her address with: “Good evening. My name is Erika Kirk. Charlie Kirk is my husband.”
In her remarks, she expressed gratitude to law enforcement officers for pursuing the suspect accused of killing her husband, to first responders who tried desperately to revive him, and to Turning Point USA for its steadfast support. She also offered personal thanks to former President Donald Trump and his family: “Mr. President, my husband loved you. And he knew you loved him, too. Your friendship meant the world to him, and your support was remarkable,” she said.
“Two days ago, my husband, Charlie, went to see the face of his Savior and his God,” Erika continued. “In one of his final conversations here on earth, he bore witness for Jesus Christ. Now and forever, he will stand by his Savior’s side, crowned in glory as a martyr.”
She emphasized that Charlie’s work would not die with him: “His mission will continue, and in his absence, it will only grow stronger.”
Speaking again of her grief, Erika admitted, “I truly don’t know what any of this means. I believe God understands, but I do not.”
Encouraging others to carry on her husband’s vision, she urged young people to become involved in their local chapters of Turning Point USA. Most importantly, she asked: “If you are not already part of a church, please, I beg you, join one—a Bible-believing church.”
Vice President JD Vance accompanied Erika, her family, and friends on Air Force Two as they transported Charlie Kirk’s remains from Utah to Phoenix, Arizona.
Meanwhile, former President Trump announced Friday that a suspect had surrendered to police after being persuaded by family members to turn himself in. Authorities identified him as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who has since been arrested and charged with aggravated murder and felony discharge of a firearm causing serious injury. If convicted, Robinson could face the death penalty.
