Joanna Page Recalls Being Groped by TV Presenter After Forewarning of His Behavior

Joanna Page, known for her role in Gavin and Stacey, has revealed she was inappropriately touched by a television presenter after receiving a heads-up about his behavior.
The 48-year-old actress claims a producer cautioned her that the host might “likely begin touching her” and described him as “quite tactile.” She admitted to already feeling anxious about the encounter, with her unease growing as she “sat anticipating his approach.”
These claims are detailed in her latest book, Lush!: My Story – From Swansea To Stacey And Everything In Between.
In a conversation with The Times to promote the memoir, she elaborated on the episode. “Midway through the recording, he started groping me,” she told the publication. “I swatted his hands away and snapped, ‘What do you think you’re doing? Keep your hands off me! … Good grief, I feel like I’m at Bristol Zoo, attacked by lions.’”
She noted that he ceased after her reaction, finding it odd that a female producer had forewarned her of the behavior, which she said was an accepted norm at the time.
Joanna is unable to disclose the presenter’s identity due to legal constraints, explaining to The Times that her legal advisors urged her to “proceed with caution.”
In the same interview, she also touched on an incident from 2009 when she was invited to appear on the cover of FHM. The actress consented to the photoshoot on the condition that she wouldn’t be photographed in her undergarments.
